Paul Harrison, a career Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State, and Marcella Szymanski, with over 20 years at the U.S. Department of State, founded Agriculture Advocates, dedicated to helping the U.S. agricultural community navigate today’s rapidly changing global economic and trade landscape. Our broader team comprises experts in trade, science, and commodities, all with extensive public sector experience. We have a strong record of domestic and international advocacy on food safety, biotechnology, and agricultural trade. Our staff has represented agricultural interests in bilateral trade negotiations and promoted science- and risk-based standards in forums such as Codex Alimentarius, the WTO Sanitary and Phytosanitary Committee, and the Cartagena Protocol. We have also provided high-level scientific guidance on animal health issues at the highest levels of government. At Agriculture Advocates, we apply this experience to deliver strategic insights and help clients navigate the evolving global marketplace.
